Blue broadband - Postings - commerical for AT&T - Brief Article

Post, Nov, 2002

SAN FRANCISCO--To promote AT&T'S broadband cable service, Phoenix Effects & Design (www.phoenixeditorial.com) completed three spots out of a single element--a blue broadband cable that swirls like a live wire and transforms into sound waves, a tornado, a camera and a friendly household pet.

Agency Hoffman/Lewis asked Phoenix to develop the concept around the existing print campaign featuring the blue cable. Phoenix design director Matt Silverman and designer Jason Ett animated the cable against a white background to create the clean, minimalist look of the spots.

Using Alias/Wavefront Maya, Pinnacle Commotion and Adobe After Effects, they worked with 3D animators Mike McCormick and Rob Taylor to make the glossy blue cable personify the speed and flexibility of broadband.
