Adobe intros Atmosphere authoring tool - Animation - Brief Article

Post, Nov, 2003

SAN JOSE, CA -- Adobe (www.adobe.com) has introduced Atmosphere, its professional authoring tool for creating rich, interactive 3D environments for the Web and its own PDF portable document format. The new tool allows users to easily build dynamic stages with realistic lighting, motion, sound and animation. Designers can create environments and compose scenes featuring multiple media types, including streaming audio and video, textures, interactivity and imported 3D objects. Developers can import 3D objects from tools such as Discreet 3DS Max or Alias Maya. Users can also select from a library of objects and JavaScripts.

The Atmosphere family of products includes the Atmosphere Player for Web browsing; Atmosphere Player for Adobe Reader, which allows users to view Atmosphere content in PDF files; and the Atmosphere Collaboration Server, which allows for realtime interaction between users.

The Windows XP tool will be available on November 19th.
