London houses work for 'Bond' - News - Pinewood Studio's AMS Neve DFC digital film console has been used in James Bond film Die Another Day - Brief Article

Post, Dec, 2002

LONDON -- John Hayward, chief mixer in Pinewood Studio's Theatre I, recently mixed the new James Bond thriller Die Another Day. The studio's AMS Neve DFC digital film console was employed on the action film's final mix. "The [benefit]of the DFC when mixing Bond [was] the extensive use of the sweet spot." Hayward explains. "With so many tracks -- up to 72 for explosives and debris alone -- you needed to be able to have all the tracks loaded and be able to select any permutation of eight in front of you at any given moment, without having to roll up and down the console to control them."

AIR Studios recorded the score for the film's soundtrack. Composer Geoff Foster scored the previous two Bond movies on Neve VR consoles and returned to a favorite room, now equipped with a Neve 88R.

Another London house. The Moving Picture Company worked on many of the visual effects, including refining the underwater greenscreen footage, adding bubbles and lighting the scene.
