LONDON -- Post Magazine is working with Extreme Music on a contest that will give an Un-Signed talent the opportunity to record at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in England. London-based Extreme, a production music library that works exclusively with successful musical artists -- such as Dave Stewart and Dweezil Zappa -- is looking to give one US-based musician an opportunity to join the Extreme composing staff.
The "Extreme Idol" contest (www.extremeidolusa.com) kicked off on December 6th and calls for submissions from those looking to get their start in the production music arena. A celebrity panel of experts will select the best 50 tracks from the list of entries. These tracks will then be posted on the Extreme Idol Web site where visitors can preview them and vote on the ones they feel are the best.

The top 20 tracks will be released for licensing on Extreme's "Idol" disc, and the composer with the highest number of votes received will be dubbed the Extreme Idol, wining two days of studio time at Abbey Road as well as a composing contract with Extreme.
Judges for the top 50 that are already signed on for the event include Academy Award-winning film composer Hans Zimmer Clio Award-winning CEO of Amber Music Michelle Curren and senior director of TV music for Paramount Films Sam Diaz.
Extreme Music is also running this contest in England, aimed at giving a UK-based talent the same recording and representation opportunity.
