DALLAS -- Production music provider FirstCom Music has launched the Connect Library, a 40-CD collection of brand image titles by the UK-based music house Connect.
"FirstCom's representation will solidify the future of this library and allow us to move forward on a strong and focused path," says Barry Blue, writer/producer/founder of Connect.
Blue wrote his first hit at age 14 for Gene Pitney. At age 16 he became the bass player for Uriah Heep and eventually worked for the Bee Gees publishing company. He also had his own European hits and produced the multi-platinum selling disco band Heatwave in the 1970s. He's since gone on to write for Diana Ross and Celine Dion.

According to FirstCom senior VP/executive producer Ken Nelson, the new library adds music reflecting youth culture and extreme sports to FirstCom's offerings.
He adds that much of FirstCom's music can be searched and previewed on the company's Web site (www.firstcom.com). In addition, the company packages DVD-ROMs with its music purchases. The DVD contains all of the music in various file formats, as well as stereo pairs that allow the user to remix tracks themselves.
