NEW YORK -- Original scoring and visual design house Fluid in Manhattan has launched a new sound design division. In addition, The studio has added sound designer Fred Szymanski to its team. The announcement Follows Fluid's experience in which client's scoring projects often require design services. Bringing in Szymanski will allow the studio to keep these projects entirely in-house.

Szymanski's credits include sound design and effects for both film and television projects. He worked on the Coen brothers' Blood Simple, as well as on Raising Arizona. In addition, Szymanski has provided sound design services for Arena Brains, Killing Angels, Stephen King's Golden Years, God's Bad Boy, Homicide: Life on the Street, Wired Angel and Martin Scorsese's After Hours.

Commercially, Szymanski has worked as a sound designer and mixer for spots through agencies BBDO, DDB Worldwide, TBWA Chiat/Day, Cliff Freeman & Partners, and Ogilvy & Mather. Since joining Fluid, he's completed sound design and sound enhancement for a series of Microsoft Xbox games out of McCann/NY.
