NEWYORK -- Metro Music has completed work on a five-minute score for corporate client Mokuba. Produced and edited by Madoff Productions in NYC, the promotional video is an artistic look at the company's ribbon textiles -- designed by Keiko Watanabe -- and will be distributed on the DVD format.

Madoff Productions shot the project at Silver Cup Studios using 35mm film. Animated transitional effects were created by John Ryan, formerly with Click 3X in Atlanta. Jeff Madoff and Scott Pelzel then edited the video on an Avid system, providing Metro Music's resident composer, Mitch Coodley, with a QuickTime file for visual reference. According to Coodley, the score was created using Logic Audio recording/editing and sequencing software running on a Mac. Most of the sound elements, says Coodley, came from samples of flutes and ethnic percussion instruments. Coodley also provided the more literal sound effects for the projec, including water, gallops and hooves. Abstract sound effects, such as slaps and whooshes, were provided by Fred Szymanski, now with Fluid in New York. Coodley mixed the track in Logic, using TDM plug-ins, and bounced it to disk, providing a final Sound Designer 11 file for syncing to picture.
