Post, Jan, 2004 by Marc Loftus

SANTA MONICA--Boston-based commercial effects house Brickyard VFX (www.brickyardsvfx.com) has branched out to the West Coast, opening Brickyard VFX Pacific in Santa Monica. The East Coast location opened in 1999 and specializes in agency work, with credits that include projects for Volkswagen, Coors and Budweiser.

The Santa Monica location will follow the same "artist-run" mantra and is co-owned by Steve Michaels (co-founder of Method Studios and former CEO of 525 Post), music video/commercial effects artist Patrick Poulatian and Brickyard VFX Atlantic co-owners/artists Geoff McAuliffe and Dave Waller.

The West Coast team is complimented by producer Diana Young and effects artist George Fitz. Poulatian and Fitz begin worked on the facility's first project--a national commercial spot--in December. The studio offers both Discreet Smoke and Flame, each in its own room.
