HD storage from Max Throughput - Post News - hard drive - Brief Article

Post, Feb, 2004

MONTREAL -- Maximum Throughput (www.max-t.com) has been shipping an HD version of its Sledgehammer shared storage solution for almost a year now. The Sledgehammer is designed for both video and IT networks, says VP of business development Michael Hughes. On the video side, the unit acts much like a digital disk recorder, while on the IT side, it is capable of serving data to network users at fast speeds.

The system allows users to capture video once in any format (without compression) and then share it anywhere. It supports Unix, Linux, Windows and Mac OS 9/X users, and can be configured with up to 32TB for hours of HD and SD storage. It also allows for real-time 2K film playout.

Studios with select drives already in place can take advantage of Maximum Throughput's software expertise to better configure a storage appliance.

Sideshow Post and Postworks are both users of the Sledgehammer HD!O high definition system.
