Post, Feb, 2004

BURBANK -- AlphaDogs (www.alphadogs.tv) recently completed high definition post production on an educational DVD featuring the Alvin and the Chipmunks gang. The DVD, titled Little Alvin and the Mini-Munks, was shot and edited entirely in HD and combines puppetry, live action and computer animation.

Russell Frazier, VP of graphics for AlphaDogs, used Discreet Combustion to rotoscope a number of elements, eliminating rods and rigs used for the puppets. In one scene, he eliminated a character in its entirety. Project director Jerry Rees used Adobe After Effects to create entire scenes and effects sequences. Some contained as many as 300 elements.

Ross Bagdasarian of Bagdasarian Productions produced the feature-length project with Janice Karman serving as creator/writer. The duo has been providing the voices for the Chipmunk characters for the past 23 years.
