BUENA PARK. CA -- Yamaha recently introduced a new compact digital mixing console derived from its successful 02R board. The DM 2000 is a 24-bit, 96 kHz console designed for professional applications. The unit incorporates a new DSP architecture and can function without any feature loss at either 48 kHz and 96 kHz.
Yamaha is particularly proud of the new console's digital audio workstation control capabilities. The system includes templates for control of Digidesign Pro Tools and Steinberg Nuendo, as well as a custom configurable template for work with additional DAWs.
The eight-bus console's control surface includes 25 touch-sensitive faders and a surround joystick Digital scribble strips allow for clear labeling of individual channels.

Additional features include 24 analog inputs, six digital card slots for extra inputs, 12 aux sends, bass management and speaker alignment tools, and a PS2 port for a keyboard. It is priced at around $20,000.
