Disk storage for DV cameras - Post News

Post, July, 2003

CAMPBELL, CA -- Focus Enhancements has added to its FireStore family of portable DV disk recorders with the new FS-3. The 21b. unit mounts directly to professional DV camcorders (Sony, Panasonic, Canon and Ikegami) and records audio, video and timecode in native file formats directly to a removable FireWire drive.

Focus Enhancements' Direct To Edit (DTE) technology supports nonlinear editor file formats such as DV-OMF for Avid Xpress DV, QuickTime for Final Cut Pro, AVI 2 for Adobe Premiere, Canopus AVi, Matrox AVI and more. Recording in native file formats eliminates the need to transfer or convert files before editing.

The FS-3 includes a 40GB FSHDD-1 FireWire drive and will be available this summer. An 80GB portable DV disk recorder is also in the works.
