Liberty improves mocap - Products

Post, July, 2003

COLCHESTER, VT -- Provider of 6 Degree of Freedom (DOF) motion capture, tracking and digitizing technology, Polhemus (www.polhemus.com) has released motion tracking product Liberty, which offers a significant step forward in speed, ease-of-use, scalability and improved signal-to-noise ratios to increase stability and resolution.

Liberty tracks at 240 updates per second using advanced digital signal processors to enable greater range and stability. Four sensors, with processing power of 240Hz per sensor, are available on the base product which can scale to eight sensors. Liberty comes with a serial I/O RS-232 and a USB interface. Each sensor independently detects distortion within the environment, alerting the user to make appropriate changes.

Liberty comes with a Windows 2000IXP GUI allowing four independent user-definable profiles for setting system parameters like filtering, outputs formats and coordinate rotations.

The four-sensor system costs $7,995, and the eight-sensor system costs $12,595.
