Atlanta's VTA gears up for high def

Post, July, 2004

ATLANTA -- When Turner Broadcasting, one of VTA's largest clients, went HD, the already HD-capable studio decided to step it up a bit by purchasing a Quantel iQ editor. VTA's (www.vta.com) top Henry artist, John Mandato, is now working on the system, which helps to solidify the Atlanta studio as a turnkey HD facility.

Mandato has already edited a series of 16 presentations featuring new programs on TNT. The "upfronts" will be used to sell pre-season commercial time.

"Today everything we do requires a certain amount of HD," says Mandato. "Clients bring in standard def and other formats expecting an HD deliverable at the end of the session. With the iQ I don't have to worry."
