Fluid movement

Post, August, 2008

VENICE, CA -- Digital Domain (www.digitaldomain.com) recently created VFX for two new: 30 Bacardi spots. Sundance and Mojito were conceived by RKCR/Y&R and show the magic that takes place in a mixing glass as the liquor is combined with elements. During the mix, the fluid forms into a dancing couple who spin and swirl. A camera pullback reveals a bartender completing the drink.

The project relied on the studio's proprietary FSIM fluid simulation system to create the water-based characters. FSIM was used in Pirates of the Carribean--At World's End, which earned the studio an Oscar. Mocap was used to recreate the dancers' moves.
