Industry: Email Alert RSS FeedImagineer launches Monet tracking tool
Post, Sept, 2004
GUILDFORD, UK -- Imagineer Systems (www.imagineersystems.com) showed its Monet 2D motion tracking tool at this year's SIGGRAPH show. Monet is designed for replacing elements in film and video projects, and allows for accurate adjustments of the track to be made. In addition, the tool allows the properties of the source material--such as lens distortion and shadows--to be easily applied to the new element. Its motion blur, focus blur and color controls make it suitable for package replacements and screen inserts.

According to Imagineer, Monet was developed in collaboration with Cinesite in Europe for use on the feature film Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. The tool is being made available in two editions: a software-only release and a turnkey solution dubbed Monet Extreme. The Extreme version includes Monet software, a Boxx workstation and an Aspex Accelera hardware card, with the option for an SD/HD/2K card from DVS Centaurus.
