Arts & Activities, Feb, 2002 by Jessie Barber
When I think of my life, art stands out as one of my most favorite hobbies. As long as I can remember, I'd color on any paper I was given. Now, my crayon scribbles have [evolved] into precise pieces of art.
I live in the hills of Ohio, where I have no cable and, up until the third grade, no computer. I had always needed something to do. I began to realize that I was surrounded by scenes that change each season, which constantly provided lively inspirations. Elementary art programs offered me more media to use and, with that, art [became] one of the skills I loved to show off.
I honestly believe that I'm a good artist. I have faith in any work I do. I am confident that I could make anything look exact with practice. Art is definitely one of my favorite things, whether it's looking at someone else's work or working on my own ideas. I plan to follow with this skill throughout my life.
