This video chronicles the story and accomplishments of four sisters who lived in Cambridge City, Ind., in the early part of the 20th century. In a time when traditional roles were set for women, they established their own pottery studio in their homes. They designed, produced and sold one-of-a-kind pieces of pottery and ceramic figurines for more than 40 years. Viewers will meet the present owners of the Overbeck home and studio, and listen to them tell the story of these independent and creative sisters. The video also features interviews with museum directors and ceramics experts. For information about this program, circle No. 399 on the Reader Service Card.
