Skutt

Arts & Activities, Oct, 2006

Every SKUTT KilnMaster and GlassMaster kiln is now equipped with a Current Sensor, which allows remote technicians to troubleshoot kilns over the phone. The sensor reads voltage and amperage with a few easy keystrokes accessed from a redesigned menu function key. The sensor can also check the board temperature, LED readout and other useful troubleshooting data. Safety features include allowing the user to enter a maximum programmable temperature, avoiding possible kiln meltdown. Also, the kilns can be programmed to require two key presses to start, preventing accidental starts. The sensor can also control cooling on a ConeFire Program, and do Cone Correlation for you on a Ramp Hold Program. For older Skutt kiln models, easy-to-install upgrades are available. For more information, circle No. 391 on the Arts & Activities Reader Service Card or visit the Skutt Web site at www.skutt.com.
