Made in France, this set of CD-ROMs contains more than 100 pictures from museums and collections around the world and provides thorough coverage of the art of significant Flemish and Dutch painters from Van Dyck to Vermeer. Grouped into chapters, the works are arranged either chronologically or by painter. An index allows users to search through categories including, "Museums," "Painters" or "Subjects." Clicking the appropriate sign will give an introduction to the historical background and set the work of each painter in context. Some images can be enlarged.

When looking at a thematic presentation, arrows will lead to other pictures in the same subject group in the chapter. Clicking a circle allows the user to hear about the painting; clicking the triangle provides the picture caption. Each image also features a zoom function, which allows the user to move an enlarged detail on the screen to view different parts of it. Titles of the individual CD-ROMs are "Van Dyck," "Bruegel," "Rubens," "Rembrandt" and "Vermeer." For information about this program, circle No. 397 on the Reader Service Card.
