Arts & Activities, May, 2002 by April Dias
Drawing is a really special talent for me, and I enjoy it. I like to experiment and try new things in my art work. I have used oil pastels, chalk, pencil, colored pencil, pen and ink, watercolor and clay. I like to use pencils and colored pencils more than any other media for my drawings, and Sculpey III for my three-dimensional work.
I base my artwork on all types of things, from my imagination to portraits of my own classmates. I especially like drawing fantasy creatures, like unicorns and dragons.
I find it hard not to draw! It comes naturally and it keeps me quiet. Whenever I have study hall or free time, if I feel like it, I'll be drawing. My family and friends have helped me greatly and have influenced my art work.
