PARAGON INDUSTRIES has just released a cone-10 kiln called the Super Dragon, designed for super-sized ceramics. The interior is 27 wide x 27" deep x 36" high. The kiln includes a floating door system with four spring door latches and a recess on the inner door surface. The door hinge is fastened to a 2-inch tubular steel frame that extends from the floor to the top of the kiln.
The Super Dragon uses the Sentry digital controller manufactured for Paragon by the Orton Ceramic Foundation. It includes Cone-Fire and Ramp-Hold modes with up to 20 segments and memory for four programs. The controller includes a programmed Cone-Fire cool-down for experimenting with glazes and cooling rates. Mercury relays are standard on the Super Dragon. For information call Paragon at (800) 876-4328 or e-mail, paragonind@att.net. For more information, circle No. 390 on the Arts & Activities Reader Service Card.
