Moorditj: Australian Indigenous Cultural Expressions - Video Recording Review

Arts & Activities, Jan, 2003 by Barbara Herberholz

CD-ROM (Win/Mac)/$39.95. Crystal Productions, P.O. Box 2159, Glenview, IL 60025, (800)255-8629.

This CD-ROM, Moorditj: Australian Indigenous Cultural Expressions, introduces students to the art of the Aboriginal people who have produced some of the oldest art forms in the world, stretching back for more than 60,000 years. The rifle, "Moorditj," is an Aboriginal word for "excellent." The rich diversity of a number of artists is seen, as well as the Bangarra Dance Theater. As students interact with this CD, they will discover 300 artworks from 110 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists--crafts, dance, literature, media, music, oral history, theater and visual arts.--B.H.
