Arts & Activities, June, 2004 by Olivia Wynn
Art is very important to me. When I am creating an artwork, I feel peaceful, free and joyful. I feel like I can do anything I set my mind to.
Sometimes I like to go out on my front porch when it is raining. I bring my easel and draw while I listen to the raindrops fall. Doing this makes me feel relaxed and happy.
Art is more than just a hobby to me. I have been drawing and painting since I was little and I really look forward to it. My family and my art teacher at school really believe in me and my artistic abilities.
My favorite things to draw and paint are landscapes. The mediums I like using the best are paint and Craypas. I especially enjoy painting on canvas.
I have had many art adventures. Last year, a watercolor landscape of mine was selected for an art show in a museum. This made me feel very proud. I especially like visiting my aunt Dani in New York City. We take art classes together. One time, I made a mosaic coaster and another time, we learned how to make erasers out of clay. I love being an artist!
