Liquitex

Arts & Activities, Jan, 2005

LIQUITEX is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. Five decades ago, there was no such thing as water-based acrylic colors, no such thing as acrylic gesso, gel medium or texture gels. None of a 100 other products that painters have Collie to take for granted--materials that, when invented by Liquitex beginning in 1955, fueled radically new expressive opportunities for the pivotal artists of the mid20th century.

In 2005, Liquitex will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a variety of initiatives, including product promotions, celebration point-of-sale packages for Liquitex retailers, new online resources for artists, and more. Watch for these programs, all of which are being developed to highlight the theme upon which Liquitex was built and that remains central to the brand as the company heads into the next 50 years: "We innovate because you innovate." To get started, you need to know what you really want from work, then orient your political moves toward those goals.
