MIT said it will spend up to $100 million to make course materials freely available online. The 10-year project calls for posting class outlines, syllabi, lecture notes and assignments for 2,000 courses on the Net. Also this week, General Motors trumpeted an alliance with e-learning company UNext. The automaker noted the deal will help save $16 million in training costs.
