A Different Kind of Media Giant
USA Networks' converging universe.
The company's far-flung businesses -- from cable networks and shopping channels to online ticket vendors and hotel reservations services -- took in $1.4 billion last year. With growth and the addition of Expedia, the company expects to top $5.6 billion in 2002 - 85 percent of that coming from commerce and other non-advertising transactions.
USA ENTERTAINMENT
Studios USA
First-run television production and distribution. Hit series: Law and Order, Xena: Warrior Princess.
USA Films
Movie production and distribution: Gramercy Pictures, October Films, USA Home Entertainment. Projected 2001 revenue: $141 million.
USA Network
Cable channel offering original and syndicated TV and films, including Baywatch and Walker, Texas Ranger.
Sci-Fi Channel
Science fiction and horror specialty.
Reaches 71 million homes.
Trio
Arts TV service run by USA Cable.
Serves 9 million households and took in $20.4 million last year.
USA Interactive
Includes Web sites Sciff.com, USANetwork.com, Triotv.com and NWITV.com.
Newsworld International
24-hour international news channel based in Toronto.

Home Shopping Network
Television and Internet shopping network. Five million customers and sales of $1.8 billion in 2000. Launched services in China and Hong Kong last July. Other international divisions include HSN en Espanol, Shop Channel in Japan and Home Order Television in Germany.

Online discount reservation supplier.
Last year's revenues: $328 million.
HRN, with Expedia and National
Leisure Group, will form USA Travel Group. Expected to clear about $4 billion in 2001 bookings.
