NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT-24 April 2002-Helsinki Television selects Motorola's EuroDOCSIS cable modem system (C)1994-2002 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

The Finnish cable television operator Helsinki Television (HTV) has chosen US-based Motorola Inc as a key technology supplier as it develops its broadband Internet services.

HTV, a unit of the Finnish media group SanomaWSOY, says Motorola was selected because of its ability to deliver a cable modem system based on the EuroDOCSIS standard.

The Finnish company will use Motorola's technology to build a EuroDOCSIS network that will enable it to provide its 220,000 customers in Helsinki with a wide range of voice, video and data services in addition to broadband Internet services.

The financial terms of the deal were not revealed.
