Finland should not join NATO, it has been claimed.
The Finnish president Tarja Halonen has rejected the idea of a Finnish membership in NATO. According to Halonen, Finland does not need to join the alliance at the moment and what Finland really needs is good cooperation between NATO and the European Union.
Halonen spoke about the issue during her visit to Thailand, reported Internytt, a Finnish online newsletter.
