The Swiss-Swedish engineering group ABB said today (19 December) that it had received a contract for a power supply system for an aluminium smelter in Quebec, Canada.
The USD30m contract was awarded by Aluminerie Alouette and covered the power supply system, an extension of the existing switchgear, high-voltage cables, transformers and a production and control system, ABB said.
