Sonera signs collaboration and outsourcing agreement with HP

The Finnish telecomms operator Sonera Corp said on Friday (28 June) that it had signed a five-year global agreement with the US-based global IT solutions provider Hewlett-Packard (HP) for collaboration and outsourcing.
Under the agreement the companies would follow a joint go-to-market strategy, cooperate in research and development, and outsource Sonera's data centres to HP, affecting 120 employees.
The employees, who will be transferred from Sonera to HP, work with field services and at four data centres and will retain their seniority at HP.
The agreement came as a result of the global alliance Sonera and HP announced in March this year. The outsourcing actions are subject to competition authority approval.
