The Danish blood gas analysers developer Radiometer A/S said on Monday (18 November) that it had failed to find an attractive partner for Accumetrics, its US-based cardiovascular diagnostic products subsidiary.

Radiometer acquired Accumetrics in 2001 but said in its report for the financial year 2001/02 that the subsidiary's performance had been disappointing and that it was trying to find a suitable partner.

The company said that it had been in talks with several partners but that no solution had presented itself and that it had therefore decided to close down the subsidiary and its operations.

Accumetrics is expected to burden Radiometer's full-year result for 2002/03 by a negative effect of some DKK60m.

Accumetrics is to be wound up in November and December after it has completed its last customer orders.

One Danish krone (DKK) is worth approximately 0.09 British pounds (GBP).
