TeliaSonera to sell Swedish cable television subsidiary

Finnish-Swedish telecomms operator TeliaSonera said today (23 April) that it had signed an agreement with the European private equity group EQT Northern Europe to sell its Swedish cable television subsidiary com hem AB.
The Swedish telecomms operator Telia had agreed to dispose of com hem as part of its undertakings to the European Commission in the context of the merger between Telia and Sonera, the company said.
The sale price was SEK2.15bn and was expected to generate a capital gain in excess of some SEK1.6bn for TeliaSonera.
One Swedish krona (SEK) is worth approximately 0.08 British pounds (GBP).
