Nokia delivers 200,000 mobile phones to China Unicom

Finnish telecomms solutions provider Nokia will reportedly deliver 200,000 of its Nokia CDMA 1x mobile phones to the Chinese telecomms operator China Unicom.

China Unicom had reportedly lowered its order of 500,000 mobile phones from Nokia to 200,000 and had instead ordered some 1m mobile phones from the Chinese companies Hinsense and ZTE.

The mobile phones would be delivered through the Putian Taili distribution company, according to the news agency AFX which quoted the Chinese newspaper 21st Century Business Herald.

According to the newspaper, Putian Taili had acquired the phones at near production price.
