The Swedish telecommunications operator Vodafone Sverige AB (Vodafone Sweden) said today (5 June) that together with the Swedish trucks and buses manufacturer Scania it had produced a mobile communication solution that would provide European haulers and forwarding companies with continuous information about the status of their lorries on the roads.
The solution would enable transport companies to optimise their service intervals, maintain contact with drivers and collect information for more efficient driving routines, according to the company.
Vodafone Sweden said that transport companies would also be able to create vehicle profiles and receive information on gauge readings, fuel consumption, alarms and position.
