The Finnish minister for regional and municipal affairs Matti Korhonen wants to improve the rights of employees when they are threatened by being laid off or dismissed.
The minister reportedly wants to look first at the law on cooperation and says that it needs to provide real security for employees, making retraining and transferring real options.
Korhonen also wants the law to include more of the work content and organisation as well as staff knowledge, reported the Finnish online newsletter Internytt.
