Nokia enters into marketing cooperation to offer chipset ICs

Finnish telecomms solutions provider Nokia said on Thursday (15 May) that it had entered into marketing cooperation with the US technology companies Texas Instruments Inc (TI) and STMicroelectronics (ST) to stimulate an open environment for CDMA handsets.
Under the cooperation TI and ST would offer chipset ICs based on technology developed jointly with Nokia.
Nokia said that the chipset ICs would be marketed by ST and TI to handset manufacturers worldwide for cdma2000 1X and 1xEV-DV (1x Evolution for Data and Voice) mobile Internet handsets.
