Swedish space equipment supplier Saab Ericsson Space AB said on Tuesday (25 November) that it had received authorisation from the German company EADS Astrium GmbH to begin work on a satellite for measuring global winds.
Saab Ericsson Space's part of the project covers the command and data handling unit, as well as antennas.
The Aeolus satellite, built by EADS Astrium Ltd in the UK under contract from the European Space Agency, will be launched in October 2007.
