Ericsson provides Finnet Group with IP network expansion

Swedish telecomms solutions provider Ericsson said on Tuesday (25 November) that the Finnish telecomms operator Finnet Group was expanding its IP backbone network with Ericsson's Packet Backbone Network (PBN) solution, equipped with the US company Juniper Networks' routing products.

The network expansion would enable Finnet's network operator, Finnish 2G Ltd, to handle increased data traffic while increasing the network's reliability and availability, according to the company.

Ericsson's PBN solution for Finnish 2G included Juniper Networks' routing products and related maintenance services provided by Ericsson, and also network management and professional services.

Ericsson said that the contract covers implementation of the Juniper Networks routing products, system support and product warranty services.
