NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT-4 November 2003-TeliaSonera Finland told to change its broadband based telephone service(C)1994-2003 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

The Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority (Viestintavirasto) issued on Tuesday (4 November) a statement in which it recommended the Finnish telecomms operator TeliaSonera Finland Oyj, part of the Finnish-Swedish TeliaSonera AB, to make its Sonera Puhekaista service work according to the communications market law before 31 July 2004.

With the service customers can make and receive telephone calls through a broadband network, but are unable to make international calls with the common European 00 number and to receive a specified phone bill, among other things, according to the authority.

The authority said that network based telephone services should meet the same requirements as a normal fixed line service, and therefore it recommends the company to fix its service.
