The Norwegian oil company Statoil ASA said on Wednesday (21 April) that it had spudded an exploration well from its Gullfaks C platform in the North Sea.
The well is aimed at the Topas prospect between the Gullfaks and Visund wells.
Statoil said that a possible discovery could be tied back to Gullfaks C.
