The Norwegian Internet browsers developer Opera ASA said on Friday (23 April) that the Japanese manufacturer Kyocera has unveiled Japan's first mobile handset using the Opera browser.

The Kyocera AH-K3001V will be available to consumers in mid-May.

"The financial impact of this announcement for Opera Software ASA depends on the number of deployed devices. Kyocera and Opera Software have been cooperating since 2002, and the licensing agreement is based on a licensing frame agreement entered between the two companies in 2003," Opera said.
