Teleste Corporation continues network upgrade in the Netherlands

Finnish technology group Teleste Corporation said on Monday (23 August) that it had received an order from the Dutch cable operator Essent Kabelcom to continue the company's network upgrade.
The order covers product deliveries to upgrade another 280,000 homes for triple-play readiness for the delivery of video, voice and broadband data without using optical fibre, according to the company.
Instead of optical fibre the operator would use Teleste's technology in broadband amplifiers.
The order was valued at EUR2.5m.
One euro (EUR) is worth approximately 0.66 British pounds (GBP).
