Scandinavian airline SAS Group said on Monday (13 December) that the global airline alliance Star Alliance had announced the launch of its global interline e-ticket product which is now being rolled out across the member carriers.

Air Canada and Lufthansa were the first pair to launch interline e-ticketing in November 2004, followed by ANA and United Airlines in December. Air Canada and Air New Zealand would follow in January 2005.

All other e-ticket pairings would become live as part of the Star Alliance global interline e-ticket roll out by the end of August 2005, according to SAS Group.

At that point customers could travel across the entire Star Alliance network using one single e-ticket.
