Ericsson extends license agreement with Sharp

Swedish telecomms solutions provider Ericsson said on Monday (27 December) that its subsidiary Ericsson Mobile Platforms had been selected by the Japanese technology company Sharp Corporation to supply GSM/GPRS mobile platforms, extending previous license agreement from WCDMA to GPRS platforms.
Under the license agreement, Ericsson would supply Sharp its quad-band G210 platform for GSM/GPRS.
"The EMPG210 platform was a good fit for our advanced display, camera and multimedia feature needs," said Masafumi Matsumoto, Corporate Executive Director and Group General Manager, Sharp Corporation.
No financial information was provided.
