NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT-7 December 2004-TeliaSonera completes broadband network order in Sweden(C)1994-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com
Finnish-Swedish telecomms operator TeliaSonera AB said on Tuesday (7 December) that it had completed the broadband network ordered by the Swedish municipality of Sigtuna.
The network would provide broadband speeds of up to 8 Mbit/s to the majority of households, according to the company.
Sigtuna was the first municipality in Stockholm County to use a municipality-wide broadband network, and all telecom switching centres in the municipality have been upgraded for ADSL, the company said.
The broadband network is based on TeliaSonera's Skanova IP City solution, which utilizes the existing telephone network in combination with a new fibre optic network.
