Ericsson and France Telecom to form strategic partnership

Swedish telecomms solutions provider Ericsson said on Thursday (12 February) that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the French telecomms operator France Telecom to form a strategic partnership.
Under the partnership, the two companies would jointly develop IP multimedia services for the consumer market, according to Ericsson.
The strategic agreement would focus on developing new services that would enhance consumer experiences and reachability, and leverage on both fixed and mobile network services, the company added.
The partnership would include the establishment of joint research and development teams, the sharing of R&D funding and the principle of sharing intellectual property resulting from the partnership.
