NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT-19 February 2004-Nokia completes pilots featuring single sign-on for mobile devices(C)1994-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Finnish telecomms solutions provider Nokia said on Thursday (19 February) that it had completed successful pilots featuring single sign-on for mobile devices with operators America Online Inc, Orange and Vodafone.

The technology would eliminate the need for multiple entering of user authentication credentials when accessing different services, such as gaming or ticket reservations, according to the company.

Nokia said that it was also working with America Online to demonstrate a prototype Nokia mobile device offering Radio@AOL, an online radio service.

According to Nokia, all these service pilots were based on specifications from the Liberty Alliance Project, a group committed to developing open, interoperable specifications for network identity.
