AstraZeneca sells Durascan Medical A/S to Sandoz

The Anglo-Swedish pharmaceutical group AstraZeneca said on Wednesday (30 June) that it had agreed to sell its Danish business Durascan Medical A/S to Sandoz.

The sales price was not disclosed.

Durascan Medical, which markets generic pharmaceuticals, has 54 employees and reported sales of EUR25m in 2003.

The deal is part of AstraZeneca's strategy to focus on innovative prescription drugs.

One euro (EUR) is worth approximately 0.7 British pounds (GBP).
