Finnish paper industry company UPM-Kymmene Corporation said on Thursday (1 July) that it was launching a feasibility study at its Blandin paper mill in Minnesota, US, in order to determine the economic and environmental feasibility of building a new publication paper machine.
A comprehensive study generally takes at least a year to complete, but the company said that it would work to complete the assessment as soon as possible.
UPM-Kymmene said that it would also proactively prepare a Minnesota Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
